The story: why and how it started
The products were already made: a custom T-shirt, a pin, and other items the client had prepared for an important business contact. They came to Warwick Link thinking the final step was to put everything in a fabric tote bag and send it over.
That would have delivered the products. But when the recipient opened the bag, they would have found the clothing together, with the smaller boxed item sitting on top. It was familiar — the kind of goody bag someone might pick up at a trade show. For this relationship, the client wanted the gift to mean more.
Designing the moment of opening
We talked with the client about the person receiving the gift and the impression they hoped to leave. From there, we designed the packaging as a sequence, giving the recipient time to discover what was inside.
First came the carry bag. Opening it revealed the gift box rather than the products all at once. Inside, the recipient would find a fabric bag, followed by a card addressed to them. Only then would they reach the items themselves.
That order changed the experience: the card gave the gift a personal voice before the recipient handled the products, while each layer made it clear that the presentation had been planned for them.
Bringing the brand into every detail
We chose colours for the custom gift box that worked with both the products and the client's brand. The company's bee emblem appeared alongside its logo, finished in gold foil. We also designed the card and ribbon, with gold details that connected the pieces visually.

The result
- A sequenced unboxing experience — carry bag, gift box, fabric bag, card, then products — instead of everything arriving at once
- A custom gift box built around the client's own colours, with the company's bee emblem and logo finished in gold foil
- A matching card and ribbon, tying every piece of the packaging back to the brand
The result was a corporate gift that felt complete from the outside in. The T-shirt and pin still had their own value, but the packaging helped the recipient understand why they had been brought together — and why this company had sent them.
For us, that was the point of the project. Our client had already invested in making the products. We helped make sure the experience of receiving them showed the same care.
Before and after
Before: a fabric tote bag holding the T-shirt, pin, and other items together, with the smaller boxed item sitting on top — functional, but reading as a trade-show goody bag rather than a considered gift for an important contact.
After: a sequenced gift box system — carry bag, box, fabric bag, card, then products — finished in the client's own colours with a gold foil bee emblem and logo carried across the box, card, and ribbon.
